Camel City Cabinetry was founded in 2009 inside the historic Thomasville Furniture building on Ivy Avenue. A division of Plyler Supply, we have spent the last decade and a half drawing custom cabinetry for kitchens, baths, and built-ins across the Piedmont Triad.
A working showroom inside a 215,000 square foot piece of Winston-Salem history, where Thomasville Furniture built the highest quality furniture for more than 50 years.
We continue that tradition. Our team brings decades of combined experience to every project. We use design software to help you visualize the room before a single board is cut. Walk-ins welcome at the Ivy Avenue showroom, appointments preferred.
A new home for an old craft.
A former Thomasville Furniture warehouse and distribution building wasn't the first choice for the owners of Plyler Supply when they decided it was time to find a new home for their growing wholesale company.
"We wanted a good location on and off (U.S.) 52 or (Interstate) 40, or something like that that was easy for our customers to get in and out of," recalled the founders. "But the more we walked through this old Thomasville building on Ivy Avenue, the more we saw a fit."
The structure had been built to make furniture, after all. Hardwood floors that had supported assembly lines now hold cabinetry displays. Loading docks that once dispatched dining sets to the country now move kitchens to homes around the Triad. The bones of the place fit the work.
That was the move that made Camel City Cabinetry possible. With Plyler Supply settled into the building, a dedicated cabinetry division opened in 2009. The Lighting Loft followed in 2016. Three sister companies now share the same address, the same parking lot, and the same commitment to a local customer base.
"We take great pride in our work and we enjoy personally meeting all of our clients," the team says, "working closely with them to design and produce cabinetry to perfectly fit their vision."
